The Joint Industry Board of the Electrical Industry is seeking an experienced leader who is a self-starter to serve as Supervisor of the Educational and Cultural Department.

 

The Supervisor will direct the activity of all staff in the Department and will be responsible for compliance with employee policies and procedures, including but not limited to time and attendance, performance evaluation, staffing, schedules vacations and approves overtime with management approval, report issues to management timely and work closely with JIB Human Resources.

 

Reporting to the Director and/or Chairman, the Supervisor will be responsible for administering all Industry related Educational and Cultural programs including but not limited to:

 

·       Training, development, and evaluating E&C staff

·       Communicate with vendors, employers, members, JIB staff and all stakeholders

·       Prepare pertinent Fund related fliers, leaflets, brochures, documents, and monthly articles which are submitted to the newsletter –Union World.

·       Responsible for all educational, cultural, and artistic events for the industry.

·       Ensure strict adherence to Department of Labor rules and regulations involving industry courses curriculum and proctoring industry exams. 

·       Administer all courses, this will include but not limited to setting up classes, recruiting instructors, maintaining log of classes, and any other activity associated with the classes.

·       Responsible for Special projects as assigned

  

*Must be available and flexible to work overtime from 4:30 – 8:30 PM to proctor classes as necessary

 

Qualifications:

·       Demonstrable advanced computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher)

·       Must be well-versed in social and cultural events, news, and political/social changes in the community

·       Excellent proofreading, editing and composition skills required

·       Flexible and willing to adapt with the needs of the Department

·       Educational and/or Cultural experience background preferred

·       Ability to work professionally and cooperatively with others

·       A four year degree in Liberal Arts or in a related field in Education and/or Cultural program required

·       Must be detail oriented and organized

·       Minimum of three years of experience required
