Support Our Work

Thank you for your interest in supporting the work of the New Start Career Network. With your support, we can further help New Jersey's struggling long-term unemployed older job seekers with the tools and resources they need to strengthen their job search.

shutterstock_429790357.jpgSince March 2020, over one million New Jersey residents lost jobs or are working fewer hours as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Most of New Jersey’s newly jobless workers are low-income individuals. Women, Black, Hispanic, and older workers are suffering disproportionately. The financial and mental health impacts for jobless individuals and their families are devastating. The public workforce system does not have the resources to meet the needs of older workers.

With the rising need for services for older job seekers in New Jersey, additional resources to hire staff, expand web-based tools, and train more volunteer career coaches are essential to continue and expand the work of the New Start Career Network.
