American Corporate Partners (ACP) Mentoring Program  is a nationwide non-profit connecting transitioning veterans to experienced professionals for one-on-one, yearlong mentorships. ACP career coaches are ready to assist with revising résumés, practicing for interviews, networking, reviewing business plans and exploring career options.
ACP has already assisted more than 6,000 service members in their transition. The program is free of charge and open to post-9/11 veterans and service members of all grades.
ACP AdvisorNet gives Veterans the opportunity to start building a network of supportive volunteers who stand by ready to help. Veterans can ask career questions using the Q&A forum to receive advice from multiple industry experts. Through ACP AdvisorNet's Community feature, Veterans can reach out to Advisors near them, in their career field of interest or in a desired experience level to connect for career coaching. Veterans can also use the site to search for jobs, read career-related Articles and get advice from company executives through The Corner Office.

Goodwill Logo

Operation GoodJobs  of Goodwill NY&NJ offers veterans career assessment, individualized career planning,  financial education, job placement and career advancement services, transitional services, family support services, assistance with child care, support for spouse and other family members.

Vet Success  of Goodwill NY & NJ is a specialized program for veterans.  It provides US veterans seeking employment with vocational evaluations and in-home assessments. 

Helmets to Hardhats                       NJ Helmets to Hardhats

Helmets to Hardhats is a national nonprofit program that connects National Guard, Reserve, retired and transitioning active-duty military service members with skilled training and quality career opportunities in the construction industry.  No prior experience is required.  The three to five year apprenticeship program teaches you everything you need to work in a specialized skilled craft.   New Jersey’s Helmets to Hardhats program is run by the New Jersey State Building and Construction Trades Council.

Troops to Teachers is a federal, nationwide assistance program that provides certification counseling and employment readiness counseling to veterans who wish to pursue a second career in public school teaching.  Financial assistance is available to veterans who meet certain eligibility requirements.   The Troops to Teachers program works with from veterans who are or have, honorably served in the military and to veterans who are willing to meet required state teacher certification requirements.  For more information on the program to include eligibility, please contact the Mid-Atlantic regional Troops to Teachers program at 800-680-0884 or
